French soccer star in child prostitution scandal

Paris, Apr 20: French football player, Franck Ribery has landed in trouble over alleged relations with an under-age call-girl.

The 27-year-old soccer star has been summoned before a judge to be questioned in connection with the child prostitution scandal.

While Ribery has admitted to having relations with the prostitute, the football player said that he did not know she was a minor.

The married German side Bayern Munich player said that he thought she was 18, which is the minimum age for prostitution in France.

Ribery's name came up in the scandal when he was called by the police to question him on the relationship he has with one of his acquaintances who had connections with a call girls, who worked in a Paris night club, which also serves as a legal brothel.

If the player is found guilty of bedding a 17-year-old girl, he could be slapped with a sentence of three years in prison and a fine of 45,000 euros.

The scandal comes in a time when the player was set to decide whether he was going to play for Germany, England or Spain. Chelsea has reportedly offered him 40 million pounds.
