C'garh bans teachers, students from using mobiles
Raipur, Apr 20: The Chattisgarh government has imposed a ban on the use of mobile phones by teachers and students in government and private schools, official sources said Tuesday, Apr 20.
"The government has issued an order to ban the use of mobile phones by teachers and students in schools," sources in the school education department was quoted as saying in a news agency report.
The education department has instructed the officials in all the 18 districts to ensure that the order is strictly implemented.
According to a source, who sought anonymity, use of mobile phones will be allowed in schools only in rare situation after seeking permission from the school head.
The move by government came following series of complaints by both parents and students in the past few months, over the upsurge in the use of mobile phones in classrooms.
Parents and students have complained that the educational atmosphere has been badly hit by the use of mobile phones.
