When a 'real metal right hook' dissolved Mike Tyson into fits of giggles

By Super Admin

London, April 18 (ANI): Mike Tyson received a 'real right hook' quite warmly when he visited war hero Mark Ormrod.

Royal Marine Mark lost his legs and his right arm in a landmine blast while on patrol in Afghanistan in 2007.

"Meeting Mike Tyson was truly awesome," the Daily Star quoted Mark, as saying.

He added: "I had a little joke with him about my prosthetic arm.

"I offered my arm out to him and when he grabbed my metal hand I told him that was what you called a proper right hook! I was only jesting but he saw the funny side of it and burst out laughing. He had a really good sense of humour and he got the joke - which is just as well really considering his record as ex-heavy weight champion of the world!"

Tyson spent nearly an hour signing autographs and talking to injured soldiers and marines at Norton House, part of the military's Headley Court rehabilitation centre in Surrey.

He also met Lance Corporal Martyn Compton of the Household Cavalry, who received 70 per cent burns and was shot in the right leg after a roadside bomb and a grenade hit his armoured vehicle in Helmand in 2006.

"You are all amazing guys and your stories of triumph over adversity are an inspiration," Tyson told them.

He added: "I have heard similar stories of courage from the soldiers back home in America and I have been moved to hear yours today.

"You are all true warriors and heroes - it has been an honour to meet you." (ANI)
