New Delhi, Apr 17: An unidentified 'mystery' woman has now entered the snowballing IPL controversy as the IT officials have revealed that a woman ran to the rescue of the IPL commissioner Lalit Modi and the eight franchises by slipping away with the documents and the laptop carrying all the information needed for the ongoing probe minutes before the sleuths' arrival.
On reaching Modi's office at 4 Seasons Hotel in Parel, the IT officials were baffled to find the office cleared off all the evidence and documents, DNA newspaper reported.
The officials then turned to CCTV footage of the cameras installed on the hotel floor to unlock the mystery.
"Through that, officials found that 30 minutes before they entered the hotel, a young woman had left the room — the one they had searched — with a laptop and a bag of files. The sleuths entered the hotel at 4:30 pm, while the woman left the room at 4 pm," the report published on Friday, Apr 17 said.
Probing into the identity of the woman, the officials were able to ascertain who she was. However, the officials did not reveal the identity of the person.
The only detail disclosed to the newspaper was that the woman was someone who was very closely associated with one of the eight original IPL franchises.
Further investigations are on.
