Woods set to play in US Open in June

By Super Admin

London, Apr 14 (ANI): The United States Golf Association has confirmed receiving competition entry form from ace golfer Tiger Woods to play at the US Open in June.

The USGA said he had entered the field for the season's second major, starting on 17 June at Pebble Beach.

The world number one golfer gave no indication when he would next play after finishing joint fourth at the Masters on Sunday. He has taken the first step toward playing the US Open by sending in his entry form.

The USGA said it received Woods' entry on Monday, one day after he tied for fourth in the Masters. It was his first competition in five months since he was caught cheating on his wife.

Even players such as Woods who are exempt from qualifying for the US Open must apply to play. The deadline to enter the tournament is April 28, The Telegraph reports.

The US Open will be held from June 17-20 at Pebble Beach, where 10 years ago Woods won by 15 shots and tied the tournament scoring record. (ANI)
