Lahore, Apr 14: Shoaib Malik may be forced to cut back on his marriage celebrations as the government's regulations introduced as part of the austerity drive will enforce restrictions on the cricketer's walima ceremony or the reception.

As per the austerity measures introduced by the PML-N-led government of Punjab province, only one dish can be served at marriage functions.

Malik is all set to host a reception for 500 guests at the Pearl Continental Hotel in Lahore on Apr 22. The food items on the list are- chicken salan (dish with gravy) with rice, roti and naan as well as a separate vegetarian dish for guests from India, followed by Gulab jamuns and ras malai as dessert.

"We have a booking (by Malik) for 500 guests on April 22," Pearl Continental"s public relations manager Alia Tariq informed a news agency.

Tariq said that the hotel will be forced to implement the government's one-dish rule despite the fact that the Shoaib Malik and Sania Mirza are sports celebrities.

"Though Malik and Mirza's marriage is of VVIP nature, we will have to implement the government's order unless there is some other direction from the authorities," Tariq said.
