London, April 11(ANI): Saloufest, a two-week booze festival that takes place every year in the seaside town of Salou, Spain, may be banned after 8000 British students who had flew in to party went on a rampage.

This year's celebrations, which kicked off at the end of March, were marked with many half-naked revelers vomiting in the streets and mooning at the cops.

Also, sixty Brits were treated for alcohol poisoning, while one girl claimed she was raped on the beach.

Now, the regional government in Catalonia has promised to end the festival.

"Saloufest is finished. Nobody should come here looking for easy sex or to drink till they drop," the News of the World quoted Xavier Sebate, a senior official, as saying.

However, local restaurant, bar owners are unhappy, as the Brit students who flock to party are their major source of income.

Bar owners claim that Brit students spent 1million pounds on booze during the two-week festival.

Jose Otero, chairman of Salou's Association of Bars and Restaurants, said: "We should be grateful they come here. Without them, we'd have no food on the table this year."

Also, Brit students are disappointed at the chances of the fest being banned.

A hockey player from Liverpool, who asked not to be named, said: "We've just come here to relax, get drunk and maybe take a bloke home for a one-night stand. I don't understand what the fuss is about." (ANI)
