'Double' will make up for Chelsea's Champions League flop: Ancelotti

By Super Admin

London, Apr 10 (ANI): Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti has said that winning the Double will make up for the club's Champions League flop.

The Blues face Aston Villa in the FA Cup semi-finals today and are two points clear of Manchester United at the top of the Premier League.

Chelsea has never won the Double, a feat that also eluded Ancelotti when he was the manager at Serie A.

"Winning the Double would make up for the Champions League, for sure. I've never won the Championship and the cup myself. In 2003, I won the Champions League and the Coppa Italia," The Sun quoted Ancelotti, as saying.

"But after the defeat to Inter Milan this was our aim, to win the Double. We are very close but nothing is decided yet," he said.

Chelsea will take on a Villa team still reeling from the recent 7-1 defeat at Stamford Bridge.

Ancelotti said: "We can't afford to be complacent. They will be out to avenge that defeat." (ANI)
