Gay AMU professor found dead
Aligarh, Apr 8: Months after being suspended for his homosexual act with a rickshaw puller, which was caught on tape, Professor Srinivas Ramchandra Siras was found dead under mysterious circumstances in his residence on Wednesday, Apr 7.
Police found the body of Siras lying on the bed after they broke open the door following complains from a neighbour about foul smell coming from the room.
Siras' pillow was soaked in blood and some of his books were scattered on the floor.
Police said that they are yet to ascertain the cause of death.
62-year-old Siras was suspended on Feb 9 after he was filmed having sex with a rickshaw puller by a group of students, who fixed hidden cameras in his room inside the University campus.
The footage was submitted to AMU administration by the students seeking stringent action against him, following which he was suspended.
A week ago the Allahabad High Court stayed the suspension and ordered his reinstatement.
