Cong calls for shutdown in Chhattisgarh
Raipur, Apr 8: Blaming the state's ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for its faulty policies which allowed the Maoists to butcher 76 CRPF jawans, the Opposition Congress called for a day-long shutdown in Chhattisgarh on Thursday, Apr 8.
While the strike did not elicit any response from in the rural areas, in the urban regions schools were shut and the transport services have reportedly come to a stand still.
As many as 76 Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) troopers were killed by the Maoists in Dantewada on Tuesday, Apr 6.
The strike called by the Congress as a mud slinging tool against its political rival instead of finding a way to pay tribute to the country's soldiers indicates the sad state of affairs in the country.
