Bangalore, Apr 8: A total of 30 sex tapes showing scandal tainted Swami Nithyananda indulging in intercourse with at at least six different women have reportedly been submitted to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID).
Quoting an official of CID, DNA reported that the former driver of Swami Nithyananda, Lenin Karuppan submitted 30 tapes of videos showing the swamiji in compromising position with women.
CID is probing into the Mar 2010 sex scandal involving the godman and Tamil actress Ranjitha.
The authenticity of the tapes are yet to be established, the official told DNA. The tapes are currently being analysed by cyber crime experts.
The investigative officials have reportedly found six women in these tapes. The identities of the women are yet to be determined.
“Lenin had made allegations of sodomy against swami Nithyananda, but there is no video evidence to corroborate that charge," the official is quoted as saying.
A another problem that the investigating officers have encountered is the fact that even though they have enough videos to substantiate the sexual charges against Nithyananda they are unable to find witnesses who would give statements to support the visual evidence.
“The complaint lodged by Lenin is largely about sexual activities in the Nithyananda Dhyanapeetam ashram. For some reason, we are not getting enough statements or witnesses in this case. There are few people speaking against the godman. During our investigations, we are being diverted into examining allegations of cheating," the report published on Thursday, Apr 8 quoted the official as saying.
The officials conducted raids on the Nithyananda Dhyanapeetam ashram at Bidadi on Apr 5 and 6. They have reportedly interrogated 29 people, none of whom have mentioned anything about Swamiji's sexual activities.
