PCB to lift Shaoib Malik's ban to ease his pain?
Islamabad, Apr 7: Amid weeks of high drama involving Shoaib Malik's controversial marriage with Ayesha Siddiqui and the proposed marriage with Indian tennis star Sania Mirza, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) decided to forgive the errant cricketer and revoke the ban slapped on him.

Former cricket captain Shoaib Malik was banned and fined in Mar 2010 for ball tampering on the Australian tour. An inquiry committee had also recommended disciplinary action against Shoaib Malik.

On Tuesday, Apr 6, media reports said that PCB was planning on revoking the ban on Shoaib Malik in the wake of the marriage controversy in Hyerabad.

Criminal charges of cheating and harassment was slapped against Shoaib, after his ex-wife Ayesha Siddiqui approached the Hyerabad police over her marriage with the cricketer in 2002.

Siddiqui's revelation came as Shaoib Malik and Sania Mirza announced their marriage plans.

Shoaib, who arrived in Hyderabad, was immediately engaged by the police in long sessions of questioning and his passport was impounded.

The troubles that Shoaib was enduring in India apparently prompted the apex body to consider a revocation of the ban.

However, the rationale behind PCB's decision to revoke a ban slapped against the player for indulging in unsportsmanlike behaviour based on the troubles in personal life remains a mystery.
