New Delhi, Apr 7: A day after the gruesome massacre of 76 CRPF personnel, Home Minister P Chidambaram on Wednesday, Apr 7,reached Jagdalpur district in Chattisgarh, the place of the attack for an on-the-spot assessment of the place and to review the situation in Chattisgarh.
According to sources, Chidambaram is likely to meet Chhattisgarh chief minister Raman Singh and other senior security officials.
Chidambaram left for the place early on Wednesday, Apr 7, morning.
76 CRPF personnel were killed in an ambush between 6am and 7am on Apr 6, in the Mukrana forests of Dantewada district of Chhattisgarh.
The dead included Deputy Commandant Satyawan Singh Yadav and Assistant Commandant, BL Meena, and a head constable of the district police force.
Earlier, on Apr 6, Chidambaram in reaction to the deadliest attack said that something must have gone wrong in the attack which has led to the dead of CRPF personnels.
