BBMP polls: Will people regret electing BJP?
Bangalore, Apr 6: JD(S) leader and former chief minister HD Kumaraswamy has opined that the people of the city will regret the decision to handed over the civic body to the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
BJP secured a majority in the 198-member Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) in the results announced on Monday, Apr 6.
After the poll results were announced, the JD(S) leader wondered why and on what basis the people gave the power to BJP even after seeing the party rule the state for 23 months.
Trying to rationalise why his party lost in the polls, HDK said that the party's image has been sullied by some bad publicity.
The party suffered the repercussions of this malicious campaign even in the BBMP polls, the former chief minister said, expressing anguish that all the work done by JD(S) during its reign has been forgotten by the people.
It is still a question as to why the people chose to award power to BJP, Kumaraswamy said adding that he and his party welcome the people's decision.
