Miandad-Akram showdown ignites fresh Pak cricket row

By Super Admin

Lahore, Apr 5(ANI): The showdown between former Pakistani captains Javed Miandad and Wasim Akram has ignited a row in the media, as neither of the legends are ready to go back on their comments.

Earlier, Akram specifically questioned Miandad's loyalty to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).

"I have all my regards for Javed bhai, but when I see him ridiculing the PCB after taking a salary every month, I wonder if he has any loyalty left in him?" The Daily Times quoted Akram, as saying.

However, Miandad, who is presently the PCB's Director General, was not amused by the comments, and said: "One can't become father of his father. If I open my lips then cricketers of the post 1996 era would not be able to speak a word."

Miandad further said he would approach Akram, and confront him over the issue.

"If he (Akram) upholds the reported statement then I would also respond and let me tell you that after my response Wasim would not be able to even face me," Miandad said.

"I have a lot of regards for Wasim's abilities, but he should choose his words carefully before making statements," he added. (ANI)
