London, Apr 4 (ANI): England bowler Graeme Swann has been arrested on suspicion of drink driving as he was returning home in the West Bridgford area of Nottingham.
He had reportedly been celebrating his 31st birthday, which was last week, before he was stopped.
"A 31-year-old man was arrested on Byron Road, West Bridgford, at 3.23 a.m. on Friday, 2 April on suspicion of drink driving," The Guardian quoted a spokeswoman for Nottinghamshire Police, as saying.
"He was stopped just yards from a police station and a mile from his home. He was arrested after a breath-test and has since been released on bail," she added.
Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club issued a statement saying: "The club can confirm that Graeme Swann was arrested in Nottingham in the early hours of Friday morning on suspicion of drink driving. We will be making no further comment." (ANI)
