Pune gangrape: Police arrests main accused
Pune, Apr 3: The police nabbed the third culprit and the main accused in the Pune gang rape case of an MBA student early on Saturday, Apr 3.
Earlier, the police arrested Ranjeet Shahaji Gade (25) and Ganesh Uttam Kamle (26), the other two men involved in the gang rape that took place on Thursday, Apr 1. Both the men hailing from Osmanabad and working as drivers, have reportedly confessed to the crime.
The main accused, identified as Subhash Bhosale, had gone absconding after committing the gruesome crime prompting the police to launch a comprehensive man hunt leading to his arrest.
The horrific incident took place on Thursday, Apr 1 when the MBA graduate, who had attended an interview, was looking for a way to return home.
The men, who came by driving in the car, offered her lift. After getting her into the car, the men took turns and gang raped her in the car. The victim was later abandoned.
She was found by a passerby on Friday, Apr 3 by a passer by. An FIR was registered at the Hingewadi police station, after which the victim was taken to Y B Chavan hospital for a medical examination.
According to reports, the 25-year-old victim hails from Nagpur and is also married. She was reportedly in US and returned to India a few days back.
