New Delhi, Apr 1: BJP President Nitin Gadkari on Thursday, Apr 1, slammed Congress over questioning the presence of bollywood star Amitabh Bachchan at the inauguration of Bandra-Worli sea link.
Addressing a press conference, Gadkari said, "Amitabh Bachchan has helped increase the reputation of India around the world. And, he is blacklisted. Is it democracy? Is it tolerance? Is it the democracy Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru professed?"
Without naming either Congress president Sonia Gandhi or Rahul Gandhi, Gadkari said, "He (Amitabh) is a great actor.... just because Madam doesn't like him, how can he be blacklisted from programmes? Just because the Prince doesn't like him.."
Bachchan, who is the brand ambassador of Gujarat, is facing crticism from Congress ever since he attended the inauguration ceremony of second phase of Bandra Worli sea link.
