Canada: Sikh stabbed to death in fight over noise
Toronto, Apr 1: 21-year-old Sikh man identified as Buta Singh Sangha was stabbed to death in a dispute between two neighbours over noise in Surrey.
Sangha was stabbed on Sunday. Mar 28 when he got in between the fight over noise from a birthday party. The couple celebrating the birthday of their child had invited Sangha.
When the fight got violent, the Sikh man was stabbed. He succumbed to his injuries at the hospital, police are quoted as saying in media reports.
"This incident remains as an altercation between neighbours and does not have any links to gangs, drugs or organised crime," The Vancouver Sun quoted an official of Integrated Homicide Investigation Team as saying.
The police on Monday, Mar 29 arrested a 32-year-old Adrian Skara and charged him with second-degree murder in connection with the case.
Skara, who has a criminal history, was produced in Surrey Provincial Court on Wednesday, Mar 31.
