Will counter Maoists menace by 2013: Chidambaram
Mumbai, Mar 31: In the wake of Maoists mayhem, Home Minister P Chidambaram on Wednesday, Mar 31, said that India will be able to tackle the menace by 2013.
"We must meet the challenge to fight against Maoists and terrorism in the next two-to-three-years. We know it is a big challenge for India, but we will be able to meet the challenge in the next two-to-three years," he said at a function organised by a Business daily in Mumbai on Tuesday, Mar 30,night.
Citing corrupt politicians as another challenge faced by the country, Chidambaram said that criminals must be prevented from entering into Parliament.
"We are the largest and disciplined democracy in the world. We need honest and decent people to come to Parliament," he said.
