Tevez credits 'red-hot' form to fans' support during family nightmare

By Super Admin

London, Mar 31 (ANI): Manchester City's ace striker Carlos Tevez credits his good form to fans who supported him during his family nightmare.

The Argentinian, 26, was given compassionate leave last month when his daughter Katie was born prematurely.

Tevez did not play for two-and-a-half weeks while he spent time with his family, The Sun reports.

But City's fans hailed his return and, since then, Tevez has hit six goals in five matches, including a 12-minute hat-trick against Wigan on Monday.

Tevez, who has grabbed 25 goals this season, said: "I have a great feeling for the City supporters and want to win for them."

"The best way to say thank you for their support is by scoring goals for them. All the goals I have scored are for the fans and the team. It feels great to be here. The most important thing now is that we get fourth place for the team and fans of City," he said.

Tevez has also become a lucky charm for City, who have dropped just two points in 11 league games in which he has scored.

In total, he has scored in 16 competitive matches for City and they have failed to win only two of them.

Tevez said: "I feel excellent about my game right now and am very happy with my 25 goals - but I want more." (ANI)
