Kingston, Mar 31: India seems to have won over the confidence of the Commonwealth Games Federation (CWF) chief Mike Fennell, who was till recently heard doubting the country's capability to host the upcoming Commonwealth Games (CWG) 2010.
At a reception organised by the Indian community in Montego Bay in honour of the Queens Baton Relay, Fenell said, "India has spared no resources for the Games and everything will be first class."
Expressing satisfaction over India's pace of preparations, he added, "Things are in great shape. We had hoped all the venues would be ready ahead of time so we could test them, but they will be completed ahead of the start of the Games."
This comes as a major relief to the CWG Organising Committee in India, which has heard sharp criticism from Fenell in the past.
The major sports event is scheduled to be held in Delhi between Oct 3 and Oct 14.
