Shajapur, Mar 30: Coming in support of Amitabh Bachchan, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan asked Congress to stop humiliating him and give him the respect that he deserves.
Stating that Bachchan was the victim of Congress's narrow mentality, Chouhan said that Congress president Sonia Gandhi should asked her party members to break free from 'politics of narrow mentality'.
"Congress president should ask her party leaders and workers to rise above the politics of narrow mentality and behave properly with the millennium's super star," Chouhan told reporters when asked on the issue after inaugurating BJP's new office building in Shajapur.
Bachchan, who is the brand ambassador of the BJP-ruled Gujarat, has been on the receiving end of the Congress' anger ever since he attended the inauguration ceremony of second phase of Bandra Worli sea link.
Meanwhile, in sharp contrast to the party's support to Bollywood actor, BJP leader Shatrughan Sinha slammed Bachchan saying that it does not suit him to promote any and every brand.
"I would like to say that Amitabh Bachchan is too big a personality. It does not suit him to bend down at this stage of career to propagate any and every brand," Sinha said.
