Liverpool's Torres warns Champion League rivals that his best is yet to come

By Super Admin

London, Mar.29 (ANI): Having scored 20 goals in the 2009-10 season so far, Liverpool striker Fernando Torres has rival Champions League chasers that his best is yet to come.lack Cats boss Steve Bruce described him as 'unstoppable'.

But the Spanish sensation played down the plaudits.

"I've scored better goals and, hopefully, the best are still to come. For me it's about keeping going and scoring more goals. That's my job. We're going the right way as a team. The last part of the season has been much better and now we have six games left to continue playing like this," The Sun quoted him, as saying.

"We have to be as strong away as we are at home. You could see from the first minute this was a different team compared to the first part of the season. We have confidence now and you can see we are playing well. Now we have to try to win all our games, wait for the other results and see where it leaves us," he added.

Torres was speaking after scoring two goals against the Black Cats on Sunday.

Bruce said: "Sometimes you have to admit you were beaten by a better team. When Torres and (Steven) Gerrard are in that sort of mood, it becomes very difficult for any side to contain them."

Kop boss Rafa Benitez said: "It was a good display but this is a long race. Still, it was nice to see the fans and players go home with smiles on their faces." (ANI)
