London, Mar 29 (ANI): Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini has said that Emmanuel Adebayor's return to the side will fire them into the Champions League.
The Manchester City striker is available again after a four-game ban following a red card at Stoke City in the FA Cup.
Now, Mancini will put him straight back into the side alongside Carlos Tevez at home to Wigan tonight as City aim to get back on track following their defeat to Everton at Eastlands last week.
"We have missed Emmanuel a lot and his return will give us a major boost for the run-in. If we can play with Manu and Carlos for the remaining matches, I think we'll be fine," The Sun quoted Mancini, as saying.
Adebayor has nine league goals this season from 18 starts while Tevez has 16 from 24.
Mancini will need both to keep on firing right until the end of the season if they are going to win the big battle for that fourth spot.
"I believe all the teams around us have a number of difficult games during the next month and for that reason, anything could happen. We are all fighting for one position and for me it is vital we forget the Everton match and move on - that's how we work," he said.
"Wigan have a good manager who likes his teams to play football and it will be a difficult game. We need to prepare for eight battles," Mancini said. (ANI)
