London, Mar 27(ANI): Reigning Formula One champion Jenson Button has said that his car is better in every area from his Bahrain flop, and he expects to be a strong contender for Sunday's Australian Grand Prix.
Button had endured a frustrating start to his title defence and his McLaren debut in Bahrain a fortnight ago, where he qualified eighth and finished seventh in the race.
The 30-year-old, who posted the second quickest time in Friday's practice session at Albert Park, is confident of getting his season back along with fellow Brit and team-mate Lewis Hamilton.
"The car is working much better here and I am much happier with it. Forgetting the pace, the car is feeling very good. From the first lap to the last it is much better than any lap I drove in Bahrain," The Sun quoted Button, as saying.
"It is working here and we have the correct downforce level for this type of circuit. So, I think we'll be closer to the front two," he added.utton further said that he is looking forward to tough competition from other teams.
"In Bahrain, Ferrari and Red Bull were a long way in front of us. We just have to hope we are a lot closer here and our aim is obviously to be on the front row," Button said.
"It is going to be tough, but it is never easy," he added. (ANI)
