Mumbai, Mar 25: Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan has slammed Maharashtra government for questioning over his presence during the inauguration of Mumbai's iconic sea link on Wednesday, Mar 24.
The Maharashtra government said that he was an uninvited guest at the Mumbai event but Bachchan insists he was requested to be the chief guest.
Reacting to the allegation, Bachchan in his blog wrote, "I had been invited by a Minister in the Government to attend and so I went along."
"A fresh controversy has been rapidly manufactured on my involvement in today's event on the sea link. But of that some other time and space," he wrote.
Adding fuel to the fire, Maharashtra Chief Minister Ashok Chavan said, "If I would have known that Amitabh Bachchan was invited I would not have not gone."
On Wednesday, Mar 23, Chavan had said that Bachchan was invited as he was a resident of Mumbai and was more easily accessible.
The quick clarification from the CM came after Congress party openly questioned the invitation to Amitabh.
