Lahore, Mar.21 (ANI): Newly appointed Pakistan cricket coach Waqar Younis has said that the team would be missing the services of some of the senior players, who have been banned by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), during the forthcoming tournaments.
Waqar, who arrived here on Saturday to assume the charge, said the team's performance may be affected initially by the absence of some players.
"Obviously any team would miss players of the calibre of Muhammad Yousuf, Younis Khan, Shoaib Malik and Rana Naved-ul-Hasan. I hope that the remaining experienced players in the side provide full support to the youngsters in the team," The Daily Times quoted Waqar, as saying.
The PCB has banned former captains Mohammed Yousuf and Younis Khan for an indefinite period and slapped hefty fines and one year ban on all rounder Shoiab Malik and fast bowler Rana Naved-ul-Hasan after a report of an enquiry committee probing the reasons behind the team's poor show in Australia found them guilty of violating the players code of conduct.
