"The Opposition has objected to Mayawati's garland and are making it an issue. BSP is very angry about all these allegations being made against Mayawati. We will continue to garland Mayawati with currency note garlands," said BSP leader Nasimuddin Siddiqui at the press conference.
Siddique reportedly said that the garland gifted to the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister was worth Rs 18 lakh.
Earlier on Tuesday, Mar 16, the outrage over Mayawati's multi-crore garland disrupted the Lok Sabha as the oppositions demanded a probe into source of money.
Following which the Income Tax department stepped in to probe the funding and ownership of currency notes.
