New Delhi, Mar 16: The lavish celebration of BSP's 25th foundation day has landed Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati in trouble as the Samajwadi Party and Congress has sought probe into multi-crore garland presented to her at the BSP rally in Lucknow.
Lok Sabha speaker Meira Kumar had to adjourned the House for about 45 minutes till 1 p.m. and later till 2 p.m as the members of SP and Congress created quite an uproar during the Zero Hour.
Members of SP and Congress, including SP Chief Mulayam Singh Yadav and Jagdambika Pal (Congress) informed the House that the garland made of currency notes of Rs. 1000 denomination was worth Rs. 10 to Rs. 15 crore, adding that they wanted a probe to determine where the money came from.
Though the BSP workers spoke out in their defence thier voices were drowned out in the noise.
Despite the Speaker's repeated pleas to allow the listed matters of Zero Hour to be raised, the members refused to pay heed. The Speaker had to adjourned the House as the uproar refuse to die.
