The Ayman Najafi, 24, and Charlotte Adams, 26,, were held in Nov 2009 for kissing and touching each other intimately in public and consuming alcohol. They were sentenced to one month of imprisonment.
Their lawyer, who had launched an appeal on Sunday, Mar 14, argued they had not indulge in inappropriate kissing and the two were just friends.
"There was no lip kissing. It was just a normal greeting that is not considered offensive," lawyer Khalaf al-Hosani told the court, adding the complainant's testimony was contradictory.
The verdict on the appeal is expected to be announced on Apr 4.
This is the third case in matter of two years, in which Britishers have been charged with indecent behavior in public in Dubai.
