"We are expecting a knee-jerk reaction from Maoists in the states affected by naxalism following the developments. Security forces operating in these areas have been asked to be on their toes," said an official.
On Sunday, Mar 14, two Maoists leaders, including naxal leader Panju Manjhi, were arrested from Bokaro, Jharkhand and two others were held in Andhra Pradesh.
On questioning the two Maoists arrested in Bokaro, the forces retrieved the 2,800 kgs explosives.
The arrests of over 20 Maoists leaders in the past forthnight is believed to have dealt a severe blow to the rebels.
