London, Mar 13(ANI): Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has revealed that he wants a place in history by winning a fourth straight Premier League title and overhauling Liverpool in the record books.
United are currently locked with Liverpool on 18 titles and a fourth successive league victory this season would see them ease past their arch rivals.
No English team has ever won four Premier League titles on the trot and Ferguson said that the chance to be the first was driving him and his players on to title glory.
"The record we're chasing is four titles in a row. That would be fantastic. And if we get the 19th it would be the most in the history of the league," The Mirror quoted Ferguson, as saying.
"It doesn't matter who we beat for that, it's a record. And a record is a record and we've got a really good chance," he added.
Ferguson further said that his players, who face Fulham on Sunday, have the experience to come out on top in their three-way battle with Chelsea and Arsenal.
"For me the best indication of our chances was last Saturday at Wolves, when we won 1-0. We've had those kind of games over the years where the players are prepared to battle it out against tough opposition on a very lively surface and were determined not to lose it," Ferguson said.
"That's a good indication for me. It wasn't the kind of game you enjoy because was it a battle, but I enjoyed it because of our performance. We stood up and the players wanted to win it because f the importance of the game. And that's the way it's going to be until the end of the season," he added. (ANI)
