New Delhi, Mar 9: Embarrased by the shameful events at the Rajya Sabha over the Women"s Reservation Bill, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh made a call to Vice President Hamid Ansari to apologise for unruly behaviour of some of opposing members.
In his conversation with Ansari on Monday, Mar 8, the Prime Minister expressed regret over the attempt to assault him by Samajwadi Party like Nand Kishore Yadav and Kamal Akhtar along with members of RJD and other opposing members.
Yadav along with other opposing members almost assaulted the Chairman Ansari during his protest against the tabling of the bill.
He uprooted the microphone and threw the stationery placed on Ansari"s table, while some of the members SP and RJD, including RJD"s Rajniti Prasad, snatched the papers from Ansari and threw the torn pieces at his face.
The security forces rush to protect the Chairman as some of the other members were threatening to reach the podium.
On the other hand, Akhtar climbed on the table of the Rajya Sabha"s official reporters.
