1 dead in stampede at Mumbai police camp
Mumbai, Mar 8: Aspirant's dream to become part of the Mumabi police team turned tragic as 1 person was killed and 10 others were hurt in the stampede that occured at a police recruitment camp at Kalina in Mumbai on Monday, Mar 8.
The mishap occurred when over 30,000 applicants gathered outside camp gate rushed in when the gate was open for submitting forms for the post of a constable.
However, the recruitment process was resumed few hours after the stampede.
The Mumbai Police at present has 3250 vacancies, including 15,000 vacancies for the post of the constables in Maharashtra.
The recruitment process was opened at five centres across Mumbai.
