New Delhi, Mar 6 (ANI): Director of Centre for Science and Environment (CSE) Sunita Narain on Saturday gave a call for researchers and environmentalists from all over the world to come together in tackling the issue of climate change.
On the sidelines of National Research Conference on Climate Change at Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) New Delhi, Narain said that it was great to see the community of researchers discuss on different issues related to environment.
"It is fascinating to see how many researchers, who even made it to the conference looking at different aspects, perhaps not coming up to a coherent view, not coming upto one methodology, that's the next step, because if you get that community of glacier researchers together and they share each others knowledge," said Narain.
"I could hear that as I sat in the session, how do you look at the snow, how do you look at the mass of snow, how do you look at precipitation, how do you measure, how do you look at remote sensing, what are the techniques, now that community is what I thought was very exciting," she added.
The two-day conference, which concluded today, did result in the formation of the Indian Climate Research Network (ICRN), a unique community of individuals and institutions.
IIT Delhi and Chennai hosted the conference in cooperation with CSE. (ANI)
