CPI (M) MP asks govt to bring Husain back
New Delhi, Mar 4: Just when renowned artist MF Husain has resigned to his faith and embraced Qatar nationality, the CPI (M) is demanding that the government bring him back to India.
The issue of bringing back the Husain was raised during Zero Hour by the CPI (M) MP Ramachandra Dome, who questioned to the government on their decision regarding the artist.
Expressing remorse, Dome said that it was a matter of shame for the country that the an artist of international repute was made to stay abroad at such an old age.
However, the government refrain from making any statement.
The CPI (M) came at a time when 95-year-old Husain has reportedly accepted Qatar nationality that was conferred to him at the instance of the emirate's ruling family.
Husain was forced to leave India in 2006 by the Hindu fundamentalist following his nude paintings of Hindu god and goddesses.
