Srinagar, Mar 3: Fresh gun battle between the security forces and the militants has been reported from south Kashmir's Dadsara village near Tral, 40 km from Sringar on Wednesday, Mar 3, morning.
The incident took place as the joint forces of the Rashtriya Rifles and the police acting on a tip-off surrounded a house in the Dadsara village early on Wednesday, Mar 3 morning, a senior police officer said.
"As the security forces challenged the holed up militants to surrender, they opened fire triggering an encounter," the officer said.
While search for militants is on, forest near Tral has been cordoned off by the Security forces.
The police said that gunshots were heard after the security forces cordoned the forest area near Largam village.
