New Delhi, Mar 3: The former leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha, LK Advani attacked the government over naming all the schemes and institutions launched by it after the leaders belonging to the Nehru-Gandhi family.

"(Some) 450 central and state government schemes and institutions involving tens of thousands of crores (of rupees) from the public exchequer have been named after three individuals," Advani said on Wednesday, Mar 3.

He was referring to Jawaharlal Nehru, Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi. All the three former prime ministers are big icons of the Congress party.

The senior BJP leader demanded that the the naming of government schemes and institutions should be kept away from party and dynasty politics.

Some of these programmes named after the Congress leaders include Rajiv Gandhi Grameen Vidyutikaran Yojana, Rajiv Gandhi National Creche Scheme for Children of Working Mothers, the Rajiv Gandhi Udyami Mitra Yojana Indira Avvas Yojana, the Indira Gandhi National Old Age Pension Scheme, and the Jahawarlal Nehru Rojgar Yojana.
