New Delhi, Mar 3 (ANI): Union Panchayati Raj Minister C.P.Joshi on Wednesday informed the Rajya Sabha that the Centre has prepared a "National Capability Building Framework (NCBF)" for regular and sustained capacity building of elected representatives, officials and other Panchayati Raj stakeholeders.
Replying to a question in the Rajya Sabha, Joshi said the programme would be implemented through training activities, including sectorally focused training programmes on rural development.
"The framework is being implemented in 250 districts of 27 States covered under the Capacity Building component of Backward Regions Grant Fund (BRGF) Programme of the Ministry and for the remaining districts under the scheme of Rashtriya Gram Swaraj Yojana (RGSY)," Joshi said.
He further informed the members that the states are entitled for an amount of Rs 1.0 crore per year per BRGF district for implementation of NCBF under the Capacity Building component of BRGF.
The allocation under capacity building component of RGSY Scheme for 2009-10 at RE stage is Rs 39.00 crore. (ANI)
