India to seek access to IC-814 plotter
New Delhi, Mar 2: Reacting to the reported arrest of IC-814 plotter in Bangladesh, External Affairs Minister SM Krishna said on Tuesday, Mar 2, that India will seek access to the accused, if the terror links are proven.
"We certainly will get in touch with the government of Bangladesh and try to what to find out what the position is. If the identity of the person is the same as that of the one we are looking for, we will take up the matter," Krishna said.
According to media reports, Nanu has claimed responsibility for his role in hijacking the Indian Airlines plane on a flight to Delhi from Kathmandu on December 24, 1999.
The Jaish-e-Mohammad militant Nannu Mia alias Belal Mandol was arrested by Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) special anti-militancy drive near the Dhaka College on Sunday, Feb 28.
Nannu was nabbed along with four other JeM militants, including the Pakistan national Rezwan Ahmed, who is JeM's regional coordinator and recruiting agent for conducting operations in India.
