London, Feb.28 (ANI): Arsenal youngster Aaron Ramsey's career hangs in the balance after he broke his leg in Stoke.
The Arsenal youngster's right leg was shattered by a sickening Ryan Shawcross tackle in the Gunners' 3-1 victory.
Ramsey, 19, lay on the grass in agony with his leg held in place only by his sock in horrific scenes reminiscent of Arsenal team mate Eduardo's broken ankle two years ago almost to the day.
The midfielder was given oxygen by medics before being strapped to a stretcher and rushed into an ambulance.
He was transferred to a London hospital were he underwent emergency surgery last night.
Shawcross was in tears as he was sent off by referee Peter Walton, while Arsenal stars Thomas Vermaelen, skipper Cesc Fabregas and Niklas Bendtner were visibly distraught.
Ramsey is now the third Arsenal star in three years to have his leg broken by a tackle in a game.
A furious Gunners boss Arsene Wenger launched a savage attack on Shawcross.
"I am not very happy with the tackle. It is not acceptable. I am very sad by what has happened to Aaron Ramsey. It is a bad injury and it is certainly long term," said Wenger. (ANI)
