US: Whale kills SeaWorld trainer
Orlando, Feb 25: A female trainer died at the SeaWorld marine park in Orlando, Florida when she was apparently pulled into the water by a killer whale.
While the authorities initially claimed that the woman died of drowning, the people present at the scene when the incident took place said that killer whale leapt out of the water, grabbed the women by her waist and took her into the water.
There are reports that SeaWorld executive Chuck Tompkins later confirmed the accounts of the witnesses. Investigation into the incident are on.
The killer whale named Tilikum, which means 'friend', was also involved in two other similar incidents in the past. In these two incidents, a trainer and a man were killed after they jumped into the tank.
The 40-year-old female trainer who died on Wednesday, Feb 24 has been identified as Dawn Brancheau
