London, Feb 24 (ANI): Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has hailed his ace striker Wayne Rooney as a legend in the making after his double took his tally for the season to 27 goals.
"Wayne was excellent. All these headers, he must have watched my video. But if he continues to improve at the current rate he will be a complete player, ready to join the distinguished band of United legends," Ferguson said.
"There you have the answer to the hole left by Cristiano Ronaldo, a player who has not only improved his scoring rate but seems to have added even more pace to his game - certainly in the way he is running at opponents now.
"He is terrifying them with the kind of form which is putting him up alongside the greats like Ronaldo, Messi and Kaka," The Sun quoted Ferguson, as saying.
"He's perfectly placed to break the 30 mark this season. Since we got him he has performed well. But this season he has made dramatic progress to a new level," he added.
Rooney said: "It was all down to the delivery into the box. Valencia played in two great balls, especially the first. It was right on my head. I couldn't miss." (ANI)
