India wins 2 gold at CWG Shooting Championship

New Delhi, Feb 19: India kicked off on high note in the CommonWealth Shooting Championship with Gagan Narang and PT Raghunath winning the gold medal in the men's 10m air rifle event.

The Indian duo of Narang and Raghunath scored 599 pts and 594 pts respectively to give India a solid start.

They defeated England who won silver after coming at the second spot by 8 points.

India won another gold when Anisa Sayyed and Anuraj Singh took the first place in the 25mt sports pistol woman pairs.

Virat Singh and Bapu Vanjare won a silver in the men's 50mt free pistol pairs.

The event being held at the Dr Karni Singh Shooting Range, near The Tughlaqabad Fort.

The medal is Indian's first gold medal at the Commonwealth Shooting Championship 2010.
