By Super Admin

Mumbai, Feb.16 (ANI): Maharashtra Chief Minister Ashok Chavan on Tuesday assured to provide adequate security to all the players during the forthcoming Indian Premiere League (IPL) matches.

Ashok Chavan, while talking to reporters on the sidelines of an event in Mumbai city said that his government was not afraid of any threats and it would give adequate security to everyone.

"Everybody is safe, not only players, everybody coming to Maharashtra is safe, provided they come legally, they come authorized, and I am not going to comment everyday on what somebody says. We will provide adequate security to whoever comes to Maharashtra. I'll speak to the organisers of IPL and if they feel more security is required then it will be given and government will do its work," Chavan said on the sidelines of an event in Mumbai city.

A number of Australian players including captain Ricky Ponting, Shane Warne, Brett Lee, Andrew Symonds, Mathew Hayden and Michael Hussey are due to play in this year's IPL Season-3, the third edition of the hugely popular cash-rich Twenty-20 cricket league.

Indian authorities have also beefed up security across the country and especially in Maharashtra following blast at a German Bakery shop, popular with foreign tourists, in Pune city on Saturday (February 13), which claimed 10 lives and wounded about 50. (ANI)
