Shooting at US church, 2 teenagers injured
Richmond, Feb 15: Another disturbing shooting incident took place in a US church when an unidentified gunman opened fire during a Sunday service on Feb 14, injuring two teenagers.
Three men wearing hooded sweatshirts entered the a San Francisco Bay area while one of them opened fire, the police said.
14-year-old boy was hit in the shoulder and a 19-year-old man was injured in the leg when the shooting took place at about 12:30 pm in front of about 100 people at New Gethsemane Church in Christ in Richmond, Sgt Bisa French informed.
The two teenagers were rushed to the hospital and there is no threat to their lives. The three suspects fled the scene after the shooting and the police are yet to make any arrests.
The police suspect that the gunman had specific targets but they are not able to determine if the two people hit during the shooting were the actual targets.
“If it wasn"t the victims that were hit, it was somebody near them," Ms French added.
