London, Feb 13(ANI): Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini is to net a nine million pound three-year contract extension from the club's wealthy owners.
Mancini had signed an initial 1.5 million pound six-month deal, when he succeeded Mark Hughes in December last year.
According to reports, owner Sheikh Mansour and chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak believe that they have seen enough to give Mancini more time even if the club fails to clinch a top-four spot in Premier League this season.
Mancini's deal had a clause to extend to 2013, if both parties agreed.
A pay-off, believed to be three million pounds, will be triggered whether he is sacked next season or three years down the line, The Sun reports.
The Italian has so far refused to buy a house or move his family to Manchester due to the uncertainty over his future, but he is expected to do that now. (ANI)
