Pune, Feb 11: A Marathi film producer, against whom a rape case is still pending, has again hit the headlines for molesting his 23-year-old accounts manager.
41-year-old Ashok Sitaram Londhe, who is also a builder, has been arrested by the Wanowrie police for allegedly molesting the woman.
The man, who had reportedly taken pictures of the victim in compromising positions, was also blackmailing her using them. Londhe threatened to circulate the photographs if she refused to marry him and work at his office.
Londhe is said to have met the victim first when she and her mother came to his office to purchase a land put on sale.
After he coxed her into taking up a job at his office, he attacked her in Sep 2009. Londhe called the girl to his cabin and kissed her forcibly after which she left his job, Deputy Commissioner of Police (ZoneIV), Dr Jalinder Supekar is quoted as saying in a news report.
Arguing the case for the accused, Sultan Inamdar said that his client was being framed as he had registered a case of forgery and cheating against the victim and two other staff members in 2009.
In the year 2007, Londhe was arrested and later realised on bail for raping a teenager on promise of a role in one of the films he was producing. The case is still pending.
