Mumbai, Feb.7 (ANI): Nationalist Congress Party chief and Union Minister Sharad Pawar on Sunday succeeded in persuading Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray that the latter's party will neither disrupt the Indian Premier League's third edition nor it will affect the Australian players' participation in it.

On Sunday, Pawar visited Bal Thackeray and appealed for withdrawal of Shiv Sena's threat to Australian players' participation in the Indian Premier League's third season.

Pawar reportedly sought Bal Thackeray's cooperation for keeping politics away from sports and allow trouble-free organization of the upcoming mega event.

Sharad Pawar, who is also Board of Control for Cricket in India chief, visited "Matoshree", the home of Bal Thackeray, in the evening and the two leaders spent about two hours together.

However, speculations were rife that Pawar, currently facing criticism from nearly all quarters over spiraling price rise of commodities, could be trying to come close to Shiv Sena party. (ANI)
